Gabriella Meade is a television Producer/Director, with twelve years experience in the broadcast industry. She takes intelligent stories, and turns them into visually creative, narratively compelling, and consistently well-received films.
Gabriella’s career began by being selected for the BBC’s prestigious Production Trainee Scheme, before joining the BBC arts department in Glasgow, and four years later becoming a freelance Shooting Producer/Director in London.
Much of her work focusses on the world of art, culture and history, and making that world accessible and engaging for all audiences. This includes in-depth profiles of heavyweight creatives, topical documentaries with artistic institutions, and interview-led retrospective series exploring everything from the history of the movie musical, to the story of PR in the music industry. Her observational documentaries bring history to life through a present-day lens – whether that’s the volunteers keeping heritage railway stations alive, or the teams working behind the scenes at historic buildings.
She frequently collaborates with some of the greatest minds of our times – from Professor Mary Beard, and broadcaster Kirsty Wark to writer Armando Iannucci – and has worked with world famous talent from Dame Emma Thompson, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellen, to Hillary Rodham Clinton and the late Clive James.
